The energy transition is a recovery story

Every battery built today is a future source of critical minerals — if recovery systems exist at industrial scale. Circularity is an economic model, not only a sustainability cost.

The energy transition is usually framed as a battery story. It is just as much a recovery story.

Every battery built today is a future source of lithium, cobalt, nickel, and other critical minerals — if the systems exist to recover them. When recovery is done at scale, it stops being framed only as a sustainability cost and starts behaving like an industrial economic model.

That is the lens BatX brings to industry forums. As Battery Circularity Partner at HEV Capital Connect 2026, BatX CFO CA. Deepak Rathi joined the panel on ESG, sustainability, and building responsible businesses — connecting finance, recycling, and what it takes for circular supply chains to hold up at industrial scale.

Investors and manufacturers increasingly ask the same question: can recovered materials meet quality, volume, and documentation requirements? Answering that requires plant capacity, process IP, and governance — not slogans.

BatX’s view is straightforward. Build the recovery systems now, while EV and storage fleets are still young, so India is ready when return volumes arrive in force.
